Executed through direct contact and pressure, this work resists mediation in favor of presence. Color operates emotionally rather than descriptively, allowing fatigue, endurance, and defiance to coexist without resolution. The portrait functions less as likeness than as confrontation—an insistence on being seen on one’s own terms.
